News and Announcements

Sure, it was wet and muddy, but at least it was cold.

Guinness defeated Centerpoint Brewing 8-9 to 2-5 on Sunday on the moist and windy Sunday morning of April 15th, 2018.

Despite playing without subs, Guinness was able to get out in front early in the match with some big contributions from their full forwards, Nick Morgan and Andretta Erickson, who outscored the entire Centerpoint crew all on their own. The inclement weather and soppy sliotars didn’t seem to slow down the Guinness gang as they went into halftime with a small but damp lead, and they kept raining on Centerpoint’s parade in the second half as they steadily moistened their lead.

Halfback Jacob Owens increased his streak of matches with bloody fingers to two while playing soggy defense. Centerpoint had great difficulty getting thru the Guinness defense, which covered them like a poncho, and just as difficult to get out from under. Owens and the rest of the Guinness backs, Horan, Touhy, and McShane, did fantastic work removing soggy balls from their region, and setting up the forwards for easy scoring opportunities.

Mark your calendars for Friday, March 16th for the 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Even better, take part in the parade by walking with the Indy GAA’s very own parade “float”! Bring yourself, a hurley, sliotar, and/or football and be sure to wear some Indy GAA gear.

At 11am EST, we will gather on the west side of Pennsylvania street between E North Street and E Walnut Street – just look for the float/Indy GAA people. If you are directionally challenged, see the attached map for our location – we are in Division 3. The parade starts at 11:30. Family members welcome.

Afters will be at Nine Irish Brothers at the corner of East St. and Mass Ave. See you there!!

We finally have a plan in place for our football draft!

The team captains will draft their teams in a super-secret location, and then gather at around 8:30pm this Friday at Tappers to reveal the teams, take any photos, and then everyone can have some fun together.

Best of all, it’s a Friday night, so hopefully you won’t have to worry about work the next day!
(Please drive and/or drink responsibly)

If you have any questions, please email Dylan (vicechair@indygaa.com).

Yours truly dropped the ball in the melee that is the lead-up to planning for the season, and neglected to let you all know that the Youth (pronounced “Yoots”) are having their annual chocolate covered strawberries sale to help offset the cost of CYC (Nationals) in Boston this year,

Indy GAA Youth is selling chocolate dipped strawberries for $10 a box.

Choose between dark chocolate, white chocolate, or both and indicate whether you’d like to pick them up tomorrow, Wednesday, February 14th at SportZone.

Order through the Youth Facebook page or email Jessica at mailgoes.here@yahoo.com
