News and Announcements
In place of the games tomorrow everyone is welcome to come to Bier Brewery to hangout, have some brews and watch the Pacers play at 1pm. Some folks had expressed interest in doing a brunch prior to so anyone feel free to comment below on suggestions for places to go and plan from there. We hope to see you all there!
GAMES ARE CANCELLED TOMORROW
We’re really disappointed to announce that tomorrow’s game’s are cancelled/postponed. We are trying to see if we can organize some type of Indy GAA Sunday Funday for anyone who wants to get out for some brunch together and either hang out, have fun, and/or watch a match. If you have suggestions, holler them out!
We will institute rain-out protocol and make up the games via double-headers on some of the remaining days (most likely). We will get to work on putting together the updated schedule as soon as possible, with the aim to have it out to you by tomorrow evening.
I reiterate how disappointed we are. We don’t like having to change the schedule, cancelling (let alone at the last minute), or just not getting to play in general.
We’ll roll with it, and do our best to make this as seamless as possible.
Sure, it was wet and muddy, but at least it was cold.
Guinness defeated Centerpoint Brewing 8-9 to 2-5 on Sunday on the moist and windy Sunday morning of April 15th, 2018.
Despite playing without subs, Guinness was able to get out in front early in the match with some big contributions from their full forwards, Nick Morgan and Andretta Erickson, who outscored the entire Centerpoint crew all on their own. The inclement weather and soppy sliotars didn’t seem to slow down the Guinness gang as they went into halftime with a small but damp lead, and they kept raining on Centerpoint’s parade in the second half as they steadily moistened their lead.
Halfback Jacob Owens increased his streak of matches with bloody fingers to two while playing soggy defense. Centerpoint had great difficulty getting thru the Guinness defense, which covered them like a poncho, and just as difficult to get out from under. Owens and the rest of the Guinness backs, Horan, Touhy, and McShane, did fantastic work removing soggy balls from their region, and setting up the forwards for easy scoring opportunities.
The board meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed a week until March 20, 2018.
If you were planning on attending and/or have a subject matter that can’t wait, please be sure to email the board at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss.
Mark your calendars for Friday, March 16th for the 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Even better, take part in the parade by walking with the Indy GAA’s very own parade “float”! Bring yourself, a hurley, sliotar, and/or football and be sure to wear some Indy GAA gear.
At 11am EST, we will gather on the west side of Pennsylvania street between E North Street and E Walnut Street – just look for the float/Indy GAA people. If you are directionally challenged, see the attached map for our location – we are in Division 3. The parade starts at 11:30. Family members welcome.
Afters will be at Nine Irish Brothers at the corner of East St. and Mass Ave. See you there!!
