Don’t forget that the first practice of Fall is tomorrow morning at 10am at Eugene Burns Park. Going forward after that, they will be on Wednesdays at 6:30pm at Broad Ripple Park. They are for veterans and noobs alike, and we definitely need veterans out there.
Even if you’re not looking to practice much or at all, come out and heckle some veterans and lend your hurley and helmet to a new-comer.
Finally, Fall League is starting in a week on Sunday, October 1st. Go to the September 27th entry on the calendar to sign up (http://www.indygaa.com/events/4990475).
If you didn’t think you had a reason to go to Irish Fest, think again. All members will receive a discount for entry to Irish Fest this year. The discounted price is $7.00. Wear your Indy GAA gear and simply inform the entry attendant that you are with our club. So come on out and enjoy the festivities! Bring a hurley or football, grab a pint, and come hang out at the Indy GAA booth located on the northwest sidewalk, just south of the New York street stage. Hope to see you there!
Have a whole bunch of jerseys from Pub Leagues past that are taking up valuable closet space? Or maybe one or two that bring back a swell of emotion at the thought of championships narrowly lost? Or just some you kinda thought were ugly?
Please contact Pat Funk, and we’ll take them off your hands to try and raise a little money for the club during Irish Fest!
Additionally, don’t forget that there is still time to sign up for a volunteer shift for our booth at Irish Fest. There are also shifts available to help out Irish Fest itself Thursday night. By volunteering Thursday, not only do you get in for free, but you’ll save the club some money by getting another volunteer in for free over the weekend, too!
In the words of Patches O’Houlihan, “It’s a two player swing!”

It’s almost time for the Indy GAA’s annual participation in the Indy Irish Fest! This event is a fantastic way for the club to showcase itself to Irish Fest goers as well as recruit new membership! This year the dates fall on Thursday Sept. 14th – Sunday, Sept. 17th and as usual we are looking for folks to help run the Indy GAA booth Friday through Sunday as well as a handful of volunteers to help out with /food/beverage ticket sales and serving beer on Thursday night only! New this year is that we will not have a demo space in exchange for a more prime spot for our booth which will allow us to reach out to those high traffic areas and attract people to us!
Please click the link below to view and sign up for volunteer slots.
MUST SIGN UP BY SEPT. 8TH!
Now here’s the catch; if you want to volunteer to serve beer on Thursday night you must submit a State application for a temporary permit to serve alcohol which must be post-marked by September 1st – which is this Friday so don’t delay!
